3D Fabrication Designer Drafter

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet

Metal CAD Designer/Drafter to support our design and fabrication teams.

This role is responsible for creating accurate, production-ready CAD

drawings and models for custom sheet metal components, assemblies, and

systems used in HVAC, construction, or manufacturing applications. The

ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal layout,

drafting standards, and CAD software, with a good understanding of

fabrication processes and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities: Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for sheet

metal parts and assemblies using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or

related software Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and

fabrication teams to ensure accuracy and manufacturability of designs

Interpret architectural and mechanical drawings to produce shop and

installation drawings Design ductwork, enclosures, brackets, and other

sheet metal products based on customer specifications and industry

standards Optimize designs for material efficiency and fabrication

feasibility Maintain organized drawing files and documentation per

company standards Revise drawings based on engineering changes or field

conditions Coordinate with CNC programmers and production staff to

ensure smooth hand-off to fabrication

Qualifications: Associate degree or certification in Drafting, CAD

Technology, Mechanical Design, or related field 2+ years of experience

in sheet metal drafting and CAD design (HVAC, construction, or

manufacturing environment preferred) Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks,

Inventor or similar CAD software Familiarity with sheet metal design

practices, including bend allowances, tolerances, and fastener types

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical

documents Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Knowledge of applicable building codes and standards is a plus
