Compensation $115,000 to $130,000 Plus Excellent Benefits!Job Summary Directs and coordinates activities related to production and delivery of aggregates and asphalt products, including safety, compliance, sales, customer service and quality control. Main Responsibilities
Adopt the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and enforce to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
Support, promote, and practice the Company's core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
Ensure safety, quality and efficiency standards are met while advising operations of assigned plant sites, and ensuring customer contentment
Drive the Barrett's safety culture to prevent injuries and ensuring company, local, and federal safety standards are met
Hire, train, and develop employees to perform at their highest level
Develop and support positive customer relationships to drive aggregate and/or asphalt sales; perform regular customer visits to promote sales/service, and collect on accounts
Work with the quality control team to meet customer demand and lead production and dispatch of materials meeting required specifications
Develop and handle budgets and forecasts for assigned plant sites; forecast raw materials needs and implement operational plans to minimize production cost
Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to resolve causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems
Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and production efficiency
Supervise the management of production schedules and priorities; monitor delivery schedules and timing to ensure efficient fleet utilization
Compile, maintain, and present production and financial data and analysis to management
Monitor inventory, and work with plant teams to control loss and product contamination
Establish and implement key performance indicators and use them to lead assigned sites
Implement effective maintenance practices and planning in order to reduce down-time; monitor maintenance needs and scheduling with internal shops and outside services to maintain equipment and trucks
Monitor housekeeping of plants to ensure plant sites are clean and organized
Skills
Validated experience in aggregates and/or asphalt production, including delivery, sales, and service
3-5 years prior experience leading and developing people preferred
Knowledge of rules/regulations governed by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, including OSHA/MSHA, DEQ, and DOT applicable to position
Experience handling budgets and performing financial analysis preferred
Self-directed, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct mentorship
Ability to lead and empower others; experience effectively leading teams
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of daily site issues
Proficiency with computers/mobile devices, including use of basic MS Office and similar programs and applications
Physical Requirements
Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE), as required by company safety guidelines
Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly required to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information
Regularly required to detect, resolve, perceive, identify, recognize, observe, inspect, estimate, assess and detect moving equipment to safely inspect work at heights above 10 feet)
Regularly required to work from a seated position for long periods using a computer
Frequent exposure to typical production plant/aggregate site conditions, including dust and loud noise, heavy equipment/machinery, loud noise, and all weather conditions
Travel, including overnight stays away from home may be required
Regularly required to communicate and perform tasks requiring visual acuity
