The Maintenance Safety Trainers are responsible for coordinating all authorized training activities in the plant, and to ensure training is delivered in a timely manner and engaging. Responsibilities include planning, leading, directing, and training employees, along with monitoring on the job training assessments. The position will also be responsible for developing and continuously improving the content of STF's training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

* Coordinate and execute the authorized training activities of personnel in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws, and maintaining compliance with refresher training for the authorized activities.

* Responsible for curriculum development for mechanical and electrical maintenance, and authorized level safety training.

* Responsible for practicing according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), federal food safety regulations and all company policies.

* Plan and organize training schedules for the timely completion of all maintenance modules.

* Organize and facilitate job training activities for all subordinates.

* Develop a collaborative relationship with all departments.

* Coordinate all work processes with other internal departments of the company.

* Comply with all plant policies and the Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) rules while conducting maintenance processes.

* Maintain and continuously improve an effective and efficient maintenance training program. Develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods in the work area focusing on timely repair of all production machinery and equipment in the plant.

* Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures that comply with applicable laws.

* Maintain an effective safety awareness program including regular departmental safety meetings.

* Maintain accurate training records of employee training hours, when necessary, take action to correct in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws.

* Responsibilities include training employees, planning, directing and assigning on the job training; rewarding and counseling employees when necessary to maintain a high standard of employee relations.

* Continuously expanding upon and improving the company's authorized training processes.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from four year college or university preferred; or (2) two or more years related experience in pork or beef manufacturing maintenance or the combination of education and experience that enables performance in all aspects of the position, including supervisory experience. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively communicate with USDA, production and management personnel. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.
