JOB SUMMARY Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives utilizing RSMeams knowledge. Ability to utilize RSMeans database and possess the ability to adjust construction cost figures based on location and scope of work. Utilize knowledge to effectively estimate the cost of installations utilizing blueprints and provide solutions to increase project bids.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide cost estimates on electrical designs to be used for bidding projects
Prepare specifications and bidding documents for electrical projects that will be bid by electrical subcontractors
Communicate with manufacturers and contractors to address challenges and develop practical designs
Nurtures existing client relationships and identifies opportunities for new business
Assist AutoCAD Designers when they are working on electrical designs
Promote Allcom's core Values of Honesty, Integrity, Quality and Performance
Job Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated ability to project a client-centric, can-do approach to project work
Well-developed client communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables
Ability to review detailed drawings with an analytical approach
Ability to research and present design options
Knowledge of power systems, voltage drop and fault current calculations, harmonics associated with power electronics or telecommunications systems, and general electrical design for the commercial and government environment
Familiarity with code and compliance issues relative to the industry
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Travel nationally and world-wide for site surveys and drawing review meetings as needed
Knowledge and expertise related to telecommunications infrastructure and design/build construction of communications and/or data center facilities is desired.
Education / Certification / Job Experience Required
4+ years of experience in electrical design of commercial projects
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Licensed PE required
Experience working on project teams
Ability to secure and maintain Department of Defense Security Clearance required
Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (drug and background) and have a valid driver's license
