Hi-Plains Civil Engineers is seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. The ideal internship candidate will have basic background knowledge in civil engineering studies. Our paid engineering technician intern will gain practical experience and knowledge and work with a team of professionals with years of experience in the civil engineering field.

Intern Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with designing and planning civil engineering projects.

Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.

Assist with the construction management of civil engineering projects.

Assist with developing cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor to determine a project's economic feasibility.

Inspect project sites to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

Assist with preparing and reviewing reports and recommendations to management regarding civil engineering projects.

Intern Requirements and Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Self-directed and able to work without supervision

Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
