Position Summary
Architect and Design: Design, develop and implement robust, scalable, extensible and maintainable test automation strategies and test automation frameworks adopting the best practices for industry standards
Strategy & Framework: Develop and maintain automation roadmap and serve as the primary Automation strategy advisor to business and SQA leadership
Tool Selection: Evaluate and select suitable automation testing tools and frameworks, and drive implementation across LNW Teams
Test Case Design: Collaborate with test and development teams on test case design for comprehensive coverage
Script Development: Design, develop, review and manage test automation scripts.
Environment Setup: Oversee the setup and verification of test environments
CI/CD Integration: Drive continuous testing by embedding automation into CD/CI pipelines and workflows.
Metrics: Identify, define and publish core metrics to measure the effectiveness of automated testing including ROI
Data Management: Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive test data sets
Execution & Reporting: Oversee test execution, monitor results, and generate reports to demonstrate value of automation
Optimization: Optimize performance by proactively identifying and addressing bottlenecks
Maintenance: Manage and maintain automation scripts and frameworks to ensure coverage for evolving feature sets and regulatory landscape
Training: Nurture the skills of SQA engineers by providing guidance and training in both established and emergent test methodologies
Problem Resolution: Actively troubleshoot and resolve automation issues.
Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, ensuring adherence to all compliance standards.
Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders on project status and outcomes.
TA Architectural Leadership: Institute and oversee any shared Test Automation architectural discussions at the enterprise level, influencing decisions regarding automation implementations across the business
Governance and Best Practices:Define automation best practices, standards and guidelines, and evolve governance frameworks.
Knowledge Management: Organize & champion knowledge sharing, communities of practice, centers of excellence, code pairing, etc. to coalesce TA engineers and improve their skillset across the organization
Collaboration and Leadership:Lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and deployment of LNW's SQA Gaming and platform automation solutions.
Continuous Improvement:Stay current with advancements in LNW's gaming products, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
Nurture Knowledge: Research and evaluate new tools, technologies, and testing approaches to enhance existing LNW automation solutions and capabilities.
Foster Innovation: Drive innovation by exploring new capabilities like GenAI, Co-pilot, Capabilities and assist implementing these across the business
Qualifications
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years' experience in Test Architect Automation with least three years of practical experience in setting up automation architecture framework in senior technical leadership roles in medium to large commercial environments
Extensive experience as a Test Technical Architect with established track record of delivering successful technological solutions
Hands-on experience in Automation Testing platforms covering all areas of SDLC/STLC
Proficient in a range of architectural frameworks and design patterns, as well as the latest technologies and trends in the Information & Communication Technology industry
Strong ability to design scalable, high-performing automation architecture roadmap/framework.
Skills across numerous test levels, including System, UAT and SIT
Familiarity with COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) tools such as JIRA, qTest, Confluence
Comprehensive knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes (e.g., Agile, scrum, BDD, TDD)
Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (Perforce, Git)
Deep knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, Cypress, Katalon, Robo framework
Proficiency in multiple programming and scripting languages (e.g., C++, C#, Python or equivalent).
Background in large embedded systems
Certifications in Quality Assurance
