JOB SUMMARY
The refrigeration technician is responsible for maintaining plant equipment to supply maximum available uptime for production, quality, and yields, while ensure the safest work environment possible. The refrigeration technician is responsible for the ammonia/refrigeration systems, boilers and water for the facility. They are responsible for approaching their work in a positive manner and will work to perpetuate a "Creekstone Proud" culture through attitude and actions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees the maintenance and repair of ammonia compressors, condensers, receivers, evaporators and pumps, water softeners, water pumps, hot water heaters, water filters and reservoirs, compressor turbines and motors, and auxiliary power sub-station and main electric control panel boards.
Also oversees the maintenance and repair of utility equipment such as steam, water, air, and stand-by equipment including temperature controls, thermostats, meters and temperature and pressure recorder.
Responsible for the continuous improvement of preventative and corrective maintenance policies, procedures, and reporting system.
Performs HAZMAT team assignments as required and assists in Emergency Response Program and in the evacuation of the Plant when needed.
Follow all rules and regulations of the Process Safety Management program.
Physically capable of performing job duties while wearing a Respirator in certain situations
Stays up to date on required company trainings.
May be required to travel for further education and training opportunities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
High School Diploma required, Associate Degree or Technical Certification preferred
Must have 2 years of experience in a similar position with prior electrical experience
Knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Climbing, stooping, and crouching occasionally; Standing for 8 or more hours per day; Walking frequently; Pushing, pulling, and grasping to move materials; Must be able to lift and carry for short distances; 0 - 100+lbs; Able to work in a wet and cool environment; Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, safety-toe boots, safety goggles, hair/beard net, etc.
