Our client is actively seeking a Transportation Project Manager to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity located in Schaumburg IL. This person will lead complex roadway and bridge design projects, including IDOT Phase I and II, as well as municipal and county infrastructure work. Based in Rockford, IL, this role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in transportation engineering and a proven ability to manage technical teams, client relationships, and project delivery.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple active projects, collaborate across offices, support business development efforts, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hybrid role offering leadership growth and the opportunity to help shape the future of transportation infrastructure in Illinois.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Illinois or ability to obtain

  • Education: A Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering is preferred)

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience working on IDOT roadway and bridge design projects, and managing/mentoring civil engineering staff

  • Location: Rockford, IL- Hybrid schedule is available

  • Software skills: Microsoft 365 and Adobe (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred)

  • Adaptability: excel at adapting to changing project requirements.

  • You will oversee multiple IDOT phase I and Phase II projects across various offices while managing and tracking the project backlog.

  • Manage client relationships, cultivating new business connections, and collaborating with the Business Development Team to identify IDOT PTB items to pursue.

  • Managing current IDOT Phase I and II engineering projects as well as County and Municipal Transportation projects.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and alignment with business objectives.
