Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Equipment Operator to join our Valued Clients team in the Edmonton area. This is a full-time position, ideally suited to an individual committed to excellence and safety. Candidates must reside locally or within a reasonable commuting distance.
Responsibilities:
Operate trackhoe and backhoe equipment in a safe, efficient, and appropriate manner
Complete daily equipment inspection forms
Participate in daily Safety Meetings and Hazard Assessments
Attend daily work planning schedule meetings
Understand soil mechanics and collaborate with geotechnical engineers on soil density testing
Follow proper rigging procedures for lifting materials
Demonstrate knowledge of ground disturbance issues and practices
Assist ground crew with tasks when not operating equipment
Maintain clean and organized worksite conditions
Enforce and comply with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience operating trackhoe and backhoe
Valid Class 5 drivers license
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in underground utility construction
Familiarity with residential subdivision development environments
Work Environment:
Outdoor work in a residential construction setting with regular exposure to varying weather conditions and uneven terrain
Requires physical fitness and the use of heavy equipment
