Cabinetmakers/Wood Assembler

Job Summary

Manufacture product according to drawings and specifications provided to ensure timely manufacturing of product to customer specifications.

Duties

1. Manufacture product according to drawings and specifications.

2. Complete tasks in a given time period, adjusting for changing priorities.

3. Ensure that work area and aisles around it are kept clean and free of debris.

4. Ensure that parts/subassemblies and finished product are labeled correctly.

5. Communicate effectively with internal customers, both verbally and in writing.

6. Follow procedures in company handbook and other documents.

7. Maintain professional image to customers and other employees.

8. Demonstrate professional attitude when approaching work assignments.

9. Display sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks.

10. Assist in developing timely solutions to problems.

11. Maintain safe working environment, making sure people around you do not get into a situation to be injured.

12. Ensure that quality of product produced is acceptable.

13. Maintain outstanding attendance.

14. Perform other duties assigned on an as-required basis.

Specifications

1. Read and interpret simple drawings increasing in complexity over time.

2. Possess knowledge of materials and woodworking processes.

3. Work to an acceptable quality level.

4. Learn machine setups for a wide variety of woodworking equipment.

5. Read and interpret specifications.

6. Possess high school diploma (required).

7. Possess 4 years of related industry experience.

8. Must have your own hand tools to perform tasks.

Job Relationships

1. Report directly to Production Supervisor.

2. Work closely with Team Leaders.

Authority

1. Recommend methods and designs regarding product.

2. Recommend changes needed in department.

Physical/Mental Requirements

1. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping and stretching.

2. Extended periods of using hand/power tools and woodworking machinery.

3. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

4. Exposure to sawdust and other construction materials.

5. Dexterity and a normal range of hearing and vision.

6. Understanding vague and implicit instructions.

7. Emotional stability and personal maturity.

8. Handling diverse work problems on a daily basis.

9. Communicating by verbal feedback in a professional manner.

10. Resolving problems, handling conflict and making effective decisions under pressure.
