Loading Dock Operations Manager

The Dock Operations Manager shall supervise and oversee the day-to-day operations of all ramps, loading docks and loading/unloading of Data Center Operations related materials. Incumbent is responsible for the scheduling/coordination of deliveries to all loading docks. The Dock Operations Manager ensures that contractors perform in accordance to building policies and procedures; ensures that building badges are displayed at all times; ensures that fire safety procedures are utilized by contractors on the loading docks; responds to emergency calls during weekends and nights; reports all incidents/situations on the loading docks. Will eventually be responsible to oversee support staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

EXAMPLES OF WORK ASSIGNED

Plans, organizes and coordinates the work and schedule for all truck/vehicle delivery to the Data Center

Communicates with Security and other on-site business units for any incidents that may impede traffic to the site.

Ensures security of loading dock operations, proper sequencing of deliveries, and effective space utilization.

Ensures safety on all site loading docks.

Conducts training for personnel using loading docks and associated equipment.

Anticipates, prevent and otherwise takes appropriate action to protect against criminal activity on all loading docks.

Conducts regular inspections of the loading docks to ensure that site personnel and other contractors are in accordance with site policy and procedures.

Supervises the inspection of permits to authorized personnel and vehicles, directs them to authorized locations.

Implements internal controls to guard against theft, waste and abuse of site property.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years or more experience in Warehouse / Loading Dock Operations role, preferably in technology service environment

Valid Motor Vehicle Operators License.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent

SKILLS:

MS Office Outlook, Excel & Web Browser application experience required

Knowledge of basic computer hardware and HW concepts a plus

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Possess sufficient computer skills to effectively administer required software programs

Interact with employees, visitors and contractors with poise and diplomacy

Maintain calm demeanor in emergency situations

Understand and apply correct usage of all personal safety equipment

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all staff, show managers, in-house and external contractor, and the public.

Ability to work in a fast, multi-task environment.

Ability to stand for sustained periods of time.

Ability to move about on foot throughout the building.

Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work indoors approximately 95% of the time and outdoors approximately 5% of the time

Use olfactory, auditory and visual senses

Potential to travel in NJ Metro area on a very limited basis

Work standing as necessary

Lift 50 lbs. or more

Ability to work pallet jacks and carts when necessary

Climb up and down stairs and ladders

Access remote work areas and confined spaces (i.e., crawl spaces, storage rooms)

Use full range of manual dexterity (i.e., sitting, squatting, bending, kneeling, walking, and lifting)

Be available for overtime work as business needs dictate

Compensation: $150,000-$183,000 annual salary (US Dollars)
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicants education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program
