DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Repair and maintenance of water distribution, wastewater collection, and plumbing systems
    • Test, repair and replace backflows and fire hydrants.
    • Work from verbal information, blueprints, diagrams, schematics and applicable national, state, and municipal specifications, codes, and ordnances.
    • Perform work in compliance with Federal, State, local, NASA and Space Force laws, regulations, and requirements.
    • Maintain certifications, licenses, permits, etc., required for performance of assigned tasks. Must be capable of using hand & power tools that are used in the plumbing trade.
    • Read and understand blueprints.
    • Prepare bids and cost estimates.
    • Complete projects unsupervised and unassisted. Ability to collaborate with customers and other construction professionals.
    • Keep records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.
    • Possess knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices.
    • Must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience and currently working in the trade.
  • Journeyman Plumber license or Water Distribution license.
  • Backflow Preventer certification.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) experience.
  • Florida Class “E” driver license.
  • Must currently possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain security clearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in extreme heat with exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Working at heights and confined spaces.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work on ladders >6’, and repetitively lifting 50 lbs., bending and kneeling.
