Estimator Assistant High-End Finish Carpentry
Compensation: $18$22 Hourly DOE
Employment Type: Part-Time with room to advance

We are a distinguished and well established high-end finish carpentry company, recognized for delivering premium craftsmanship on luxury homes.
Position Overview:
The Estimator Assistant will focus on assisting in creating digital take-offs of finish carpentry items from architectural plans, inputting details into Excel spreadsheets, and compiling comprehensive proposals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proposal Creation:
- Assist with preparing bids, change orders, T&M agreements, work orders, and detailed sketches/specifications.
- Perform Data Entry and other documentation related to the estimates.
- Generate and Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals.
- Create and present proposals to upper management for review and approval.
Vendor Communication:
- Receive and compare quotes from material vendors.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with vendors.
- Professionally communicate via email and other means to ensure smooth transactions.
Project Analysis:
- Analyze project plans and specifications to fully understand project requirements.
- Identify and research discrepancies within the plans and resolve them.
Documentation and Organization:
- Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the proposal and bidding process.
- Ensure all required paperwork is organized and easily accessible for future reference.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers and estimators to verify proposal accuracy and project specifications.
- Present and discuss proposals with upper management for final approval.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience & Skills:
- Ability to learn software and computer systems quickly.
- Previous knowledge and experience in finish carpentry and construction is highly preferred.
- Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Deadline-driven, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel is a must).
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or other estimating software (highly preferred).
- Ability to read blueprints and perform accurate take-offs.
Education: (preferred but not required)
A college degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with the construction industry and terms
- Minimum 1 years of experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Must be able to read blueprints and perform take-offs.
- Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar) is highly preferred.
