Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing carpentry construction, maintenance, and repair duties.

Responsibilities

Performs carpentry duties - 60

Replaces ceiling tiles.

Replaces floor tiles.

Replaces broken bathroom towel bars.

Installs wall-mounted televisions.

Repairs furniture.

Constructs and installs furniture.

Locates and repairs roof leaks.

Repairs sheetrock.

Replaces broken glass and mirrors.

Maintains the carpentry shop.

Repairs and replaces doors.

Performs other maintenance duties - 30

Hangs pictures.

Installs and repairs campus signage.

Repairs window screens.

Cleans gutters.

Installs banners.

Assists with graduation set-up.

Installs window blinds.

Performs a variety of related duties. - 10

Performs a variety of related duties.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Other Required Qualifications

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Required Experience

More than one year of related experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of carpentry construction, repair, and maintenance.

Knowledge of relevant construction codes.

Knowledge of carpentry hand and power tools.

Knowledge of department policies and procedures.

SKILLS

Skill in the operation of job-related tools, vehicles and equipment.

Skill in oral and written communication.
