Position Summary:
Under general supervision of Supervisor, the Terminal Operator is responsible for operating all Terminal and Reclamation equipment in connection with receiving, storing, transferring, and loading of refined petroleum products, and petroleum contact water in a reliable and efficient manner while in compliance with the Partnerships procedures and regulatory requirements.
Position Accountabilities:
Report to shift leader for daily work assignments
Operate Diffused Air Filtration for pretreatment of PCW
Operate biological Sequence Batch Reactor for final PCW processing
Dewatering bio sludge from the SBRs for landfill disposal
Safe transfer of PCW, Sludge and Transmix general from plant operations
Discharge treated PCW to permitted county sewer system
Gauge storage tanks
Check, receive, and unload PCW deliveries and trailer wash out as needed
Perform shift facility walkthroughs, record tank levels and sign off checklist
Retrieve tank samples
Perform general maintenance and repair (pumps, motor, valves, seals)
Keep all work areas clean and unobstructed,
Report any unsafe conditions to management
Follow all polices set forth in the employees handbook
Assist other departments as needed
Complete any other tasks deemed necessary by management
Education Requirement:
- HS Diploma or GED
- 0 - 4 Years of Experience
- Experience with bulk fuel storage and pipeline operations is a plus
Experience Requirement:
Must possess the ability to communicate both verbally and through written forms.
Participate in behavior-based safety system which includes peer on peer observations, incident and near miss investigations as well as job safety analysis.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting analysis on the various kinds of equipment.
Issues work permits and monitor contractors working in our facility to ensure compliance with Safe Work Practices.
Desire to work in highly quality-controlled environment.
Ability to learn advanced equipment operating skills.
Ability to work alone and unsupervised any various task.
Ability to climb tanks up to 80 for gauging and metering without fear of heights.
Ability to be trained to operate a forklift and telehandler safely.
Ability to climb on tanker trucks for unloading, pulling of samples and cleaning of equipment.
Understand how to unload company trucks and outside units bringing product for disposal.
Ability to transfer product from tank to tank by opening and closing valves.
Move and set controls, ( knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms, etc)
Patrol units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.
Read temperature and pressure gauges and flow meters, record readings, and compile operating records.
Determine malfunctioning units by observing control instruments.
Inspect equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction, for example leaks, breakages, and faulty valves.
Working Conditions and Requirements:

- Driving, walking, and standing - 30% of the day
- Exposure to adverse weather - 10% of the day (when adverse weather is occurring)
- Climb tanks using stairs to heights in excess of 60 feet once per day
- Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, and require appropriate personal protective equipment 30% of the day (activities during walking and standing)
- Work on and around equipment and facilities that require knowledge of and adherence to safe work procedures and practices
- Subject to callouts to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays
