Role Definition

The Large Power Systems Division currently has an opening for a Senior Engineer - Design in the 3400V (Medium Vee) Platform team. As a Design Architect, you will provide critical engine design integration support for Machine and Commercial programs, including NPI, CPI, BIQ, Aftermarket Growth, Parts Resourcing, Assurance of Supply and Cost Reduction projects.

What you will do

  • Communicating necessary design changes to process partners through Content Definition and Design Reviews

  • Reviewing L3 component designs for part commonality and compatibility with engine and application

  • Factory support for Assurance of Supply Issues as first point of contact from engineering

  • Working with factory personnel to manage and resolve current product BIQ issues & NPI issues

  • Maintain dashboard with active list of BIQ issues and resolution status

  • Building and maintaining engine models

  • Managing large assemblies in Creo and Teamcenter

  • Releasing engine arrangements and other platform-owned drawings

  • Investigating current production issues (CPI)

  • Deploying product robustness initiatives (AM Growth)

  • Evaluating parts resourcing and cost reduction projects

  • Managing design control requests

Degree Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in accredited Engineering curriculum and/or 5+ years of engine design experience

Skills you must have

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

  • Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.

  • Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.

  • Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Top Candidates will also have

  • Medium Vee-specific design experience

  • Job Owner experience (JRS)

  • Experienced collaboration with L5 application engineering teams and L3 component design teams during NPI and/or NTI programs

  • Ability to develop concept designs, fixtures & tooling

  • Aptitude for managing multiple design tasks and prioritizing to deliver on time and quality

  • Simulation-based design (ANSYS, Creo-Simulate, FLOEFD)

  • Self-starter

  • This position will be located onsite in Mossville, IL (Building AC).

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
