Overview
Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Stamping Operator to work in our Westminster, SC location. This is a 3rd shift position and standard hours are from 9:30 pm to 7:30 am Sunday - Wednesday. Overtime will be required, as needed. The pay rate starts at $19.90 per hour and is based on experience. There is also a shift premium for this position.
Position Information:
This position reports directly to the Supervisor and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is primarily responsible working with metal fan blades, small and large laminate. Must be able to work with hand tools and other machinery such as a riveter.

Responsibilities
Stamping Operator Job Responsibilities:
- Will be expected to be able to perform daily tasks.
- Read and follow instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
- Complete all departmental paperwork, such as routings, assembly tickets, downtime tracking sheets, and daily checklists. Communicate questions and problems to Lead/Supervisor.
- Assemble product as instructed on work instructions or routings.
- Responsible for the safe operation of machinery used for pre-assembly components. Machinery may vary from hand tools to large stamping presses as determined by area.
- Perform frequent quality checks as directed by management or a Quality Representative. May be required to use quality inspection tools such as gauges, micrometers and/or calipers. Continuously inspect part quality.
- Obtain first piece and last piece buyoff from the Quality department.
- Relay all information about current job to oncoming shift. Make sure each shift does a first piece or a continual run.
- Maintain production rate on each job.
- Communicate any issues, questions, or concerns to a Lead or Supervisor.
- Use machinery to Stamp, form, roll, and/or emboss per work instructions/routing/blueprints.
- Ability to read routing sheets to identify raw material to be used to stamp the product.
- Must know the difference between clockwise/counterclockwise for item to be made correctly.
- Ability to determine correct die set for the product they will be stamping.
- May be required to set up roller or emboss machine if the job requires use of this equipment.
- Will be required to change out die sets in the presses in a timely manner.
Verifies quality specifications by measuring completed component/product.
Obtain first piece and last piece buyoff; shift change buyoff when applicable. If authorized, take necessary measurements and record data on routing paperwork.
Ensure data accuracy before transacting in inventory system. Elevate issues or suspected discrepancies to management.
Will be required to fill in as Operator in other departments as directed/rotated.
Train new operators when assigned.
Practice 6S and always maintain clean and safe work areas.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Stamping Operator Qualifications:
- Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Previous experience with presses or similar equipment is essential.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work well in a group and individually.
- Some degree of mechanical aptitude may be required.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
