Position Summary:
Based in Hebron, Kentucky, the Maintenance Supervisors will perform essential job functions under the direction of the Engineering Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor position leads and manages the maintenance department under minimal supervision.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.
- Supervises employees who perform maintenance and install equipment used in thermal processing and coating applications.
- Monitors progress of employees in terms of skills training and identifies/assigns specific training as required.
- Evaluates and gives performance feedback both informally and through the use of the formal performance management system.
- Monitors, reinforces, and oversees health, safety, and environmental (EHS) performance of the department and employees.
- Resolves chronic or acute equipment issues.
- Identifies, selects, assigns, and supervises contract personnel who perform specialized maintenance work or who supplement department work.
- Directs the scheduling of daily and monthly routine and preventive maintenance activities, as well as working with the operations department to determine the scheduling of equipment that requires shutdown.
- Utilizes the computerized maintenance management software (FMX) for maintenance work order management, documenting equipment information, and managing preventive maintenance requirements, among other things (e.g., spare parts, predictive actions, etc.).
- Reads and interprets for the sake of equipment or facilities maintenance, engineering drawings, schematics, circuit diagrams, or other such documents as required.
- Works closely with equipment vendors and suppliers on identifying and ordering specialty equipment or parts.
- Together with the Engineering Manager, manages capital projects by initiating Capital Asset Requests, initiating purchasing requests for CapEx project-related items, and supervising installation and project milestones and timing.
- Maintains a high degree of fiscal budget responsibility for the plant and department through organized management of purchase orders and competitive supplier bidding.
- Owns the assessment of facility conditions and initiates facility repair and/or maintenance activities.
- Prepares month-end reporting and updates facility maintenance KPIs.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.

- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders.
- Education - College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred; high school or equivalent plus 5 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
- Must have advanced training or electrical experience.
- Must possess the skills to effectively supervise and direct the work of maintenance department employees.
- Must have general knowledge of welding, cutting, brazing, hydraulics, and furnaces, and be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- May be required to work beyond the regular shift schedule or any shift, including weekends, helping to manage resources when critically required for downed equipment/facility.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and databases, is required.
Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to, the following.
- Must be able to work in a sitting/standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust, humidity, fumes, argon and nitrogen gas lines and valve panels (high pressure), and chemical solvents.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
