The Role: We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a technical expert with 10+ years of experience in civil site design, infrastructure projects, and project leadership. The ideal candidate will provide oversight on a variety of complex civil engineering projects and mentor junior staff while supporting the growth of our practice.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and manage the design and delivery of civil engineering projects, including site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design
- Prepare and review detailed engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and public agencies to ensure successful project outcomes
- Serve as a technical expert and quality control reviewer on complex design challenges
- Oversee permitting processes and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
- Participate in proposal development, project scoping, and fee estimation
- Support business development by nurturing client relationships and identifying new opportunities
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably in consulting or private-sector infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in civil design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, and StormCAD)
- Strong understanding of civil site design, grading, stormwater management, and utility coordination
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
Essential Physical Functions:
- Sit/stand at a desk or computer
- Walk, stoop, stand and move around job sites
- Travel and occasional site visits requiring stooping, standing, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent communication via phone, video, or in-person meetings
- Ability to focus on digital and paper-based information for extended periods
- Some project-based travel may be required
