Architect - Fulltime - Corporate Facilities

GENERAL SUMMARY: Fully competent architect in all conventional aspects of healthcare architecture. Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural design for projects of moderate size and complexity. Performs analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts. Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data. Writes reports and specifications. Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supporting the Planning and Development of:

• Project Program
• Space Plans
• Conceptual Designs
• Final Design Document
• Conceptual Design Estimates

1. Supporting preliminary design is compliant with:

• Michigan LARA
• MIOSHA
• State of Michigan Fire and Safety Codes
• CMS Requirements
• Michigan building Codes
• CON Requirements

1. Completion of design drawings

2. Adhering to the following policies and procedures for HFH:

• Space Standards
• Design Standards
• Capital Initiation Process

1. Participation in HFH Space Committees and act as staff support

• Design Coordination with Interior Design Department

1. Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor Degree in Architecture 5 year or Masters in Architecture.
• Three to five (3-5) years experience in Healthcare Design.
• Professional registration preferred but not required.
• Training in all applicable Building Codes and Ordinances.
• Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements related to hospital environmental safety.
• Self-directed and motivated.
• Effective collaborator; accountable for self and others.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
• Experience with Rendering Software.
• Experience with Sketch Up.
• Experience with Auto Cad.
• Experience with Revit.
• Basic proficiency in medical terminology and a clear understanding of medical

confidentiality.
