The Opportunity

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and support activities for MetLife's enterprise data management and integration systems, the underlying infrastructure, and integrations with other enterprise systems and applications globally. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of MetLife's data integration strategy and explore emerging technologies supporting Extract Transform and Load.

Success in this role requires advanced knowledge of data transformation and integration products like Informatica, along with the ability to think strategically and communicate effectively. The Lead Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership in the planning, engineering, design, implementation and support of data management and integration system infrastructures and technologies. You'll collaborate closely with partner teams in Global Technology and Application Development in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.

How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Lead in the planning, engineering, design, implementation and ongoing support of data integration technologies.
  • Partner with the Capacity Management, Production Management, Application Development Teams, and the Business to ensure customer expectations are maintained and exceeded.
  • Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new data management and integration products and technologies, and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise.
  • Manage project planning and resource alignment across multiple technologies.
  • Develop solutions for complex data management and integration system issues (Tier 3 support)
  • Coordinate application infrastructure maintenance activities and disaster recovery testing.

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • 7+ years of experience working in an Engineering capacity (planning, design, implementation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, troubleshooting) of highly available Enterprise systems using Linux or Windows to host the vendor data management and integration product suites.
  • 10 years of experience working in a Production support capacity (installation, configuration, troubleshooting) of Informatica extract transform load, data integration, and managed file transfer products.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with Informatica data integration and transformation products.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with RDBMS (MSSQL, Oracle) and DB2 technologies.
  • Ability to think strategically and effectively communicate solutions to customers and various levels of management.

What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

  • 1-2 years of experience working with cloud-based data integration platforms (Informatica Intelligent Cloud, Informatica Data Management Cloud, Azure Data Factory).
  • Advanced experience with Informatica Product suite: PowerCenter, Power Exchange, Data Quality, Data Engineering, B2B Data Exchange, Metadata Manager, and Master Data Management.
  • Advanced experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services: Intelligent Data Management Cloud
  • Advanced experience with Big Data Ecosystem: Hortonworks Data Platform, HDFS, Hive, HBASE, Kafka and related data integration technologies.
  • An understanding of Disaster Recovery and High Availability technologies.
  • Experience in design and developing Automation/Scripting (shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Java, Chef, Ansible).

The salary range for applicants for this position is $103,300 - $137,700.
