Average Starting Hourly Pay Range - $15.50 - $25.00 Depending on Experience
Day Shift Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
16% Night Shift Premium Available Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 5:30 am
PTO upon hire, Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits are offered after 90 days of employment, 401K after 6 months
Overview: As a Fabricator I, II, or III for Merrill: A Keel Company, you will be responsible for fabricating steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel products, either under the supervision of a Team Leader or a Level III Fabricator if hired as Level I or II. On-the-job training is provided as necessary.
Job Functions (All levels):
- Flame cutting, beveling, pre- and tack-welding, grinding, straightening, bracing, and building basic fabrications to print using a fixture or where minimal or no machine stock is required.
Level II
- Assembly of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly or sub-assembly of moderately complex units
- May require adjusting, fitting, and aligning to ordinary tolerances.
- Will work from blueprints and utilize basic math skills and hand tools, as well as assembly machines
Level II
- Same as above, but will also include the following:
- Assemble intricate units composed of many components, parts, or of large and complicated units.
- Performs highly diversified work involving considerable adjusting, fitting, and aligning to very close tolerances and strict inspection standards
- May plan assembly procedures and direct the work of others.
- May test or inspect assembled units
Work Environment: Typical shop floor environment with frequent exposure to high heat, smoke, and other debris, with occasional exposure to extreme conditions depending on weather conditions.
Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, standing, bending, and twisting, with handling of moderate to heavy components - up to 50 lbs without mechanical assistance.

Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Familiarity with tack welding, utilizing FCAW, GMAW, or stick electrodes.
- Must be able to read standard and metric measurements.
- Must be able to read and build from basic blueprints and detail prints with minimal machine surfaces.
- Minimum 6 months experience in welding/fabrication for Level I.
- Levels II and III should have up to, or exceeding, two (2) years of experience, should be able to read part drawings related to welding and fabricating, be able to weld using the most common materials and techniques, and utilize dimensional measurement tools.
