POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides skilled construction labor, technical expertise, and maintenance repairs on City assets.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May act as a lead worker for other park personnel assigned to a job.

M-F 7AM-330PM SCHEDULE MAY VARY BASED ON OPERATIONAL NEEDS.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected. Make and assist in the construction of buildings, rooms, and similar carpentry. Does finish carpentry such as cabinet making, trim molding and furniture. Does remodeling include drywall, wallpaper, and panel work. Forms, places, and finishes concrete, repairs concrete as needed. Installs new playground equipment. Fabricates and installs furniture and fixtures. Maintains and repairs existing playground equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
Estimates, requisitions, and purchases materials needed for jobs. Maintains current skills and knowledge in the proper and safe use of all tools and equipment. Operates power tools including saws, drills, sanders, shapers, planers, jointers, grinders, jackhammers, trucks, portable radios, and other tools as needed Opens and closes, locks and unlocks facilities as needed. Repairs broken windows and lock sets as needed. Maintains current knowledge of new techniques and materials pertaining to job description. Keeps records of work completed. Performs other duties as assigned. Works with and co-ordinates work with contractors to meet assigned deadlines. Reads blueprints and estimates job costs and equipment needs from said prints. Operates necessary equipment to pick up and deliver material. Keeps records of work completed.
- Must have a p-card, for purchases.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or equivalent education required. Minimum of two years? experience in related field required Experience in a supervisor capacity preferred.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in all work; working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do construction projects, renovations, and repairs.
- Skill in the operation of listed tools and equipment. Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for extended periods of time, and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions to staff. Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public. Must be able to read and work from blueprints. Ability to layout jobs using a transit. Employees expected to display a positive attitude and be customer service oriented.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATION:
? Valid Driver?s license required; Class A CDL preferred.
EQUIPMENT:
Pickup truck, radio, cell phone, laptop, tablet, plumbing tools, welding tools, carpentry tools, dump trucks, flatbed trucks, trucks with trailers, some heavy equipment and painting tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works in high precarious places and in frequently exposed to wet and/or humid condition, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, except when operating power equipment.
