Hours: Full time; Monday - Friday; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Hours subject to change during emergencies.

Must be available to work odd/extra shifts for Ice/Snow and natural disaster events.

THIS SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION IS SUBJECT TO MANDATORY DRUG TESTING POLICIES AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.This is skilled diagnostic and mechanical work in the repair and preventive maintenance of a diversified heavy equipment fleet which includes heavy street maintenance, medium-heavy trucks, and construction equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance inspections to assure equipment/vehicles are kept in safe and reliable operating condition.

Perform equipment repairs to assure equipment/vehicles are kept in safe and reliable operating condition.

Maintain good work habits to ensure duties are performed efficiently and effectively.Desired: Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) certification.High school graduate or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Necessary Special Requirements: Valid driver's license. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required or the ability to obtain within 90 days of appointment. Training, including Entry Level Driver Training, is available at no cost for those who do not currently hold a CDL.
