Marine Electrician - San Diego, CA - 1st Shift** **Job Description** + As a Marine Electrician, you will install, repair, and maintain shipboard electrical systems in accordance with NAVSEA standards. You will perform cableway installations, routing, and terminations per MIL-STD-2003-4A, and fabricate and install multi-pin connectors per MIL-STD-2003-5A. Additionally, you will conduct electrical testing using diagnostic tools, interpret electrical drawings, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and collaborate with various teams to execute work packages. **Responsibilities** + Install, repair, and maintain shipboard electrical systems according to NAVSEA standards. + Perform cableway installations, routing, and terminations per MIL-STD-2003-4A. + Fabricate and install multi-pin connectors per MIL-STD-2003-5A. + Conduct electrical testing using multimeters, Meggers, and other diagnostic tools. + Read and interpret shipboard electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. + Ensure compliance with safety, quality assurance, and configuration management protocols. + Collaborate with engineering, planning, and QA teams to execute and validate work packages. + Document all work performed, including redlining drawings and completing QA forms. + Troubleshoot and isolate faults in shipboard electrical systems and components. + Install and terminate power, control, and communication cables. + Perform continuity and insulation resistance testing on new and existing circuits. + Support shipboard inspections and assist with corrective actions for discrepancies. + Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in accordance with Navy and OSHA standards. + Mentor junior electricians and apprentices as needed. + Participate in pre-installation planning meetings and post-installation reviews. **Essential Skills** + Three years of shipboard experience at the journeyman level. + NAVSEA Cableway Certification in accordance with MIL-STD-2003-4A. + NAVSEA Multi-Pin Connector Certification in accordance with MIL-STD-2003-5A. + Experience working as a Marine Electrician on shipboard electrical systems. + Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items, especially 009-73. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. + Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. + Prior experience aboard Ticonderoga-class cruisers. + Experience with fiber optic terminations and testing. + Knowledge of NAVSEA drawing standards and configuration management. **Work Environment** + This role involves working aboard the USS Cape St. George (CG-71) at Naval Base San Diego. You will be expected to maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces following Navy and OSHA standards, and adhere to protocols for safety and quality assurance. **Job Type & Location** + This is a Contract position based out of Chula Vista, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
