Sheet Metal Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a Field Sheet Metal Mechanic to travel to various sites for the installation of dust collection systems, mist collection systems, machine platforms, and machine guarding systems. Our ideal candidate will possess a background in sheet metal installation or fabrication. Skills in duct work, plumbing, or piping systems are also valuable. The role involves working on the road with aerial lifts, sheet metal installation, piping installation, dust and mist collectors, and other guarding systems for machines. Responsibilities Travel to various sites to install dust collection and mist collection systems. Install machine platforms and machine guarding systems. Work with aerial lifts and sheet metal installations. Install piping and duct systems. Ensure safety systems are correctly installed to protect machine operators. Essential Skills Sheet metal installation and repair experience. Heavy equipment handling and diesel engine experience. Expertise in hydraulics and HVAC systems. Blueprint reading and mobile equipment operation. Experience in duct work and troubleshooting installations. Skill in repair, electrical systems, and fabrication. Knowledge of pneumatics and construction. Additional Skills & Qualifications OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain. Manlift experience. Valid driver's license. Experience in construction trades. Preferred but not required: Sheet Metal License SM2. Experience in welding and working with stainless steel. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools. Depending on the job site location, employees may travel directly to the site or carpool from our shop. Sites are primarily located in Connecticut with occasional jobs in Western Massachusetts. After initial training, the mechanic will be paired with a helper. The dress code includes work pants, shirts, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses. Most jobs last between one to three days. Job Type & Location This is a full-time position based out of Cromwell, Connecticut. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
