Job Summary In this role, you'll be responsible for movement, storage, meeting daily fuel demand requirements and maintenance of all coal handling equipment including large mobile equipment. Job Description AEP is seeking talented and motivated Maintenance Supt. to become an integral part of our team at Flint Creek Powerplant Residency Requirements- Successful candidate will reside within 1 hour drive time to Flint Creek Powerplant under normal driving conditions. Maintenance Supt. What You'll Do: Material Handling- Direct Improvements in material handling operating procedures Scheduling: Schedule and direct maintenance of equipment and movement of materials essential to operations of the plant. Safety: Develop, maintain and enforce safe working conditions by providing proper and adequate tools, equipment, protective clothing and devices. Establish and enforce safety work behaviors. Participate in the setting of safety goals for an accident free work environment. Communicate to employees the importance of a safe work environment on a daily basis. Investigate, report and track incidents/accidents including root cause analysis and correction action taken. Recommend: Recommend and direct improvements to equipment design, operating procedures and material handling procedures Planning - Assist in developing long and short range plans for maintenance, capital improvement availability and staffing. Participate in the development of plant O&M and capital forecast, and tracking and controlling expenditures to meet approved budgets. What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree + 6 yrs power plant experience; or Associate's + 8 yrs power plant experience; or high school diploma/GED + 10 yrs power plant experience. Must have a minimum of 3 yrs supervisory experience. Equivalent experience without AAS degree - high school graduate and six (6) years of experience in electric utility and/or related industrial drafting and/or computer aided drafting work.
