Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated construction inspector for projects in the Southeastern region of Ohio.
Responsibilities include:
Providing inspection services for transportation construction projects
Ensuring all work and materials used are in compliance with the proposal, plans, and specifications
Documenting inspected work daily
May perform required calculations, take measurements, and verify weights and volumes as needed
May plot and run cross sections and prepare "as builds" during progress of the project
Will perform materials testing
This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver's license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.
Successful candidates will have the following:
At least two ODOT Construction Inspection Prequalifications
A bachelor's degree in construction management or related field
OR
An associate degree in construction management or related field plus at least two (2) years of relevant experience
OR
No degree plus at least four (4) years of relevant experience
Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following:
ODOT construction inspection and materials testing certifications
Working knowledge of ODOT standards, specifications, and material testing procedures
Working knowledge of AASHTOWare Project and GoFormz
