Job Description

Responsible for leading large and small capital projects. Responsible for the creation, ownership, and continuous improvement of all plant-wide processes. Lead and support in a collaborative team environment. Oversee manufacturing engineering responsibilities in an assigned department(s) including cost reduction projects, product cost estimating, maintaining production standards, and standard work. Ensure accuracy of BOM and routings within the ERP system and supporting new product launches.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

Lead cost reduction projects, value analysis and economic programs to reduce labor and burden costs.

Lead capital projects for new business, cost reduction, reliability and efficiency improvements, and business continuity projects.

Own, prepare, and maintain all production standard work and production documentation, conduct regular standard work checks and PFMEA and Control Plan reviews to meet IATF standards.

Drive continuous improvements. Attend weekly root cause problem solving meetings.

Develop, maintain, and improve plant/work cell layouts.

Manage Routings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Ensure process improvements are accurately reflected in product costs and labor and material standards.

Work with SEH and production department to reduce ergonomics risks.

Evaluate customer returns for root cause and corrective actions, utilizing formal problem-solving tools such as 8D analysis, PFMEA, and Control Plans. Tie this analysis back to operations standard work and product documentation.

Mentor co-ops, interns, and technicians

Support new product and process development.

Analyze manufacturing data, identify adverse conditions, and recommend improvements.

Research, recommend, and execute capital equipment projects.

Ensure processes meet Safety, Environmental, and Health & regulatory requirements.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Background & Skills

B.S. in an Engineering discipline such as Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering

Minimum of 5 years of engineering work experience in a manufacturing environment and project management.

Must be able to work in the US, without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale capital projects, coordinating efforts across diverse internal departments and external partners.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong graphic design ability.

Proficiency in problem-solving tools and methodologies.

Ability to manage multiple projects.

Strong organizational skills, project management abilities, and attention to detail.

Proficiency with various computer software and applications such as CAD, Excel, Word, MS Project, and Minitab.
