Overview
TRC is seeking a highly motivated Roadway Engineer for our growing transportation practice in Ohio.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the design of roadways on ODOT and/or Ohio Turnpike projects, be a team player, and be enthusiastic in working with other engineers, project managers, and other technical staff assisting with planning, designing, and overseeing civil engineering projects.
Position can be based in one of our TRC offices in Cleveland, Cincinnati or Columbus, Ohio.
Responsibilities
Assist with Design and construction support of transportation projects such as Roadways, Highways, and Freeways.
Support the production of project plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates (PS&E).
Be involved in all project aspects including design/study development and site/field visits during design and construction and work independently.
Efficiently produce quality deliverables while meeting budget and schedules on multiple concurrent projects.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies.
Supervise and mentor entry level staff and be responsible for entry level staff job tasks.
Provide QA/QC on road design projects.
Assist in marketing efforts to pursue future work.
Qualifications
BS degree in Civil Engineering.
4+ years of roadway, highway, and drainage design experience.
Experience preparing roadway plans for Ohio DOT and/or Ohio turnpike required.
Professional Engineer License in Ohio.
Experience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents including OpenRoads and MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to supervise and mentor entry level staff and be responsible for entry level staff job tasks.
Ability to provide QA/QC on road design projects.
Ability to assist in marketing efforts to pursue future work.
Must be flexible, well organized, accountable and dependable.
