Position at JBS USA 2ND SHIFT ASSISTANT SAFETY MANAGER HOURS: 2nd Shift flexible as needed or required DUTIES: Participate in the development of safety guidelines and related health and safety communications and educational information Maintain, implement and provide guidance on federal and state regulations covering hazardous chemical communication (HazCom), confined space entry, personal protective equipment, Lockout Tag-out, electrical safety, emergency action including Hazmat, fire prevention, industrial hygiene, machine guarding, materials handling and storage, ladders and stairways, powered industrial trucks, welding and cutting, and fall protection Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices Assist in new employee orientation training and annual safety training Assist supervisors in immediately investigating all injury accidents and near-miss accidents during the 2nd shift promptly. Present the investigation to HR to enforce follow-up action Ensure that contractor personnel working on the property comply with company policies and safety requirements Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws, or reporting requirements Facilitate ergonomic/safety committees as requested Perform other duties or tasks as needed or assigned by the Safety Manager QUALIFICATIONS: BS in Safety/Industrial Hygienist Excellent people skills Ability to plan time efficiently Ability to conduct training classes as assigned Good communication skills written and oral Good attendance record Resume required REQUIRED: Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation FOR SALARIED ROLES: As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations.
