Job Posting: Independent Contractor (1099) Delivery Driver Portland, ME Area
Granite State Shuttle Service is seeking reliable Independent Contractors (1099) for delivery routes in the Portland, Maine area. This is a payroll route with additional on-call opportunities available. Experience as an Independent Contractor is a plus!
**Position Details**
Vehicle Requirement: Sedan-sized vehicle (or similar) is ideal for this route.
Schedule: Consistent payroll route with flexibility for on-call assignments.
Pay: Route details and rates will be discussed in-person only (not via phone or email).
**Requirements**
Must be eligible to work as an Independent Contractor (1099) in New Hampshire (see eligibility criteria below).
Must pass a background check.
Must carry minimum auto insurance of 100/300K.
Must provide Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check data at interview.
Must attend an in-person interview (no virtual interviews).
New Hampshire Independent Contractor Eligibility (per RSA 275-C:5):
**To qualify as a 1099 contractor in NH, you must meet at least 5 of the following criteria:
Maintain a separate business location.
Have the ability to incur profit or loss.
Be responsible for satisfactory performance of work.
Are paid per job (not hourly).
Furnish tools, equipment, and supplies for the work.
Set your own work schedule.
Offer services to the general public.
Have your own liability insurance.
**Documents to Bring to Interview**
Current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Proof of insurance (100/300K minimum coverage).
Valid drivers license and registration.
