Chief Fabrication is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join the Chief team. This position is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining various health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure a positive and safe work environment. Uphold an effective safety program through training and managing programs related to safety procedures, accident protection, and prevention to ensure a safety minded culture.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority. Prioritizes the well-being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns. Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, and codes, while managing OSHA recordkeeping and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, maintain and conduct effective safety training to all employees and new hires.
  • Help develop a procedure for identifying hazards.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of policies, procedures, and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace; conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
  • Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations.
  • Responsible for compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting all accidents with the proper paperwork to workers compensation claim administrator.
  • Coordinate and support workplace safety and injury response by ensuring employees receive appropriate medical care and transportation for work-related injuries, assisting in the development of modified duty assignments for injured employees, and leading or supporting the Safety Committee and First Aid Team Members.
  • Develop, implement and maintain all Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) and site-specific policies.
  • Develop, implement an emergency action plan and train for the event of a disaster (tornado and fire drills).
  • In the event of a disaster, assist in the evaluation of damage and possible loss.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, or GED, required.
  • Associates degree or higher in Safety, preferred.
  • 3 5 years of manufacturing experience in a safety role preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping and requirements.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local laws, regulations and codes.
