Robotic Welding Operator**

**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**

This is a full-time position. The hours of work are, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., midnights which are 4 days 10-hour shifts, at 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work required as job duties demand.

**Summary/Objective**

Robotic weld operator 1 operates robotic weld cells and similar equipment to support production of manufactured goods. Candidates for this position may also operate press brakes, rivet stations, iron workers, punch presses, roll formers to support production of manufactured goods on an occasional basis.

**Essential Functions of Robotic Welding Operator**

- Performs typical functions to support manufacturing in a metal stamping/cold formed steel environment.

- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines.

- Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: Punching, taping, forming/bending, rolling, robotic welding, deburring, measuring, inspecting and data entry.

- Must be familiar with the basic machine functions to perform the tasks stated above.

- Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding machine set-up.

**Supervisory Responsibility**

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

**Work Environment**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

**Physical Demands**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds, daily, up to 30 pounds on a weekly basis and rarely lifts over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

**Travel**

No travel is expected for this position.

**Required Education and Experience**

- High school diploma or GED diploma, or six to twelve months' related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Preferred Education and Experience**

Twelve to eighteen months' work experience as a machine operator and/or robotic welder/welder.

Capacity to visually inspect welds for defects such as but not limited to porosity, undercutting, and penetration.

Previous experience working with robotic weld cell automation.

Familiarity with tools req
