Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a Maintenance Superintendent , this person will be responsible for fixing all important systems and equipment, so they are working well, and for creating detailed plans to prevent problems. This includes overseeing boiler systems, ammonia systems, ripening rooms, wastewater pretreatment systems, air compressor systems, and production equipment. The job requires working closely with operations to make sure that all systems are up-to-date, reliable, and running smoothly. This includes meeting all the rules and keeping things running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote Food Safety Culture as a priority in all situations.
  • Ensure SWWCA compliance for NOx emissions, including verification of current permits.
  • Develop and verify Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), build and manage preventative maintenance programs within CMMS.
  • Inspect and repair evaporators and compressors, inspect and address oil leaks and shaft seals, repair insulation as needed.
  • Address Freon R448a leaks, repair insulation as needed and install and update labeling for piping per regulatory and industry standards.
  • Inspect and repair air compressors and dryers, conduct leak detection and perform necessary repairs, verify and maintain filter replacement schedules.

Requirements :

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance, plant operations, or facilities management, preferably in food processing, manufacturing, or similar industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, project management software and maintenance management software, preferably AMMS.
  • Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and credit screen.

Compensation:

The Salary range is $110.000 - $115.000, based on experience and qualifications.
