Job Description:- Managing the projects hydrology and hydraulics including flood risk studies, cross and longitudinal drainage design, and storm water management;
- Managing the projects water quality and water detention studies and design;
- Managing design consultants drainage teams to meet the Request for Proposal requirements;
- Identifying objectives and formulating optimizations for the concepts of the project;
- Evaluating alternatives to develop solutions and foresee future problems;
- Preparing technical design documentation, verifying calculations, working with external design teams, and leading the development of all drainage, hydraulic and hydrological-related issues of the bid and technical submission proposal documentation in accordance with Ferrovial Groups goals Participating in the planning and scheduling of work, as well as the review and approval of tasks to meet bid deadlines
- Participating in meetings with key stakeholders
- Ensuring drainage designs can be integrated into construction plans and that the design is feasible for construction
- Risk tracking and management throughout the bid and construction processes
- Determining construction quantities to be used for the pricing of the proposal, and developing a winning proposal from a technical standpoint
Job Requirements:
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering obtained from an accredited U.S. college or university, preferably one of the premier civil engineering programs in the U.S.
- 2-5 years of experience in the design of freeways, interstate highways, and interchanges.
- Knowledge and experience with MicroStation, Geopak drainage and/or Stormcad, and other applicable software common to the field of hydrology and hydraulics engineering, like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY8, etc.
- Demonstrated qualities of leadership and hard work.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings and specifications.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess strong attention to detail and can work in a fast-paced environment; an eagerness to learn and apply your engineering skills to develop creative problem-solving designs/ideas.
