Job Summary:

As a Manufacturing Project Engineer Lower Power Train you will support process development projects for the continuous improvement of the safety, quality, velocity and cost of manufacturing.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage manufacturing projects, including new product introductions, process improvements, and equipment upgrades
  • Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance
  • Analyze production data and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including process flows, FMEAs, and validation reports
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

Top Candidates Will Have (Preferred qualifications):

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (PMP certification a plus)
  • Proficiency in CAD software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices
  • Experience with PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans
  • Knowledge of automation and robotics in manufacturing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Manufacturing Best Practices and Standards: Knowledge of best practices and standards for improving the effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of the design, production, and distribution of manufacturing products; ability to create and implement best practices and standards for various manufacturing processes and activities.

Manufacturing Process Design and Development: Knowledge of how to develop or design a manufacturing process; ability to establish and determine which processes and parameters should be opted to improve functionality and costs.

Capacity Planning & Management - MFG : Knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service.

Change Control - MFG: Knowledge of the processes and procedures by which a change is identified, evaluated, approved, monitored and documented; ability to manage changes in the production environment and processes effectively.

Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.

Additional Information:

  • The primary location for this position is Decatur, IL
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available
  • Travel will be up to 5%

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
