Job Description As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for building prototype equipment, testing and evaluating refrigeration systems, and designing, building, and maintaining life cycle test stands. You will conduct agency approval testing of new and revised equipment and create engineering laboratory reports that document setup, procedure, and results. You will also participate in design engineering activities from concept design to end-of-life analysis and build proof of concept breadboards at system and unit levels from sketches, blueprints, and/or dialogue requested by engineers. Responsibilities
- Build prototype equipment.
- Test and evaluate refrigeration systems.
- Design, build, and maintain life cycle test stands.
- Conduct agency approval testing of new and revised equipment.
- Create engineering laboratory reports that document setup, procedure, and results.
- Participate in design engineering activities from concept design to end-of-life analysis.
- Build proof of concept breadboards at system and unit levels from sketches, blueprints, and/or dialogue requested by engineers.
- Engineering knowledge in mechanical, electrical, or electronic fields.
- Experience as a model maker or machine builder.
- Ability to read and create mechanical engineering drawings and electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Basic computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to work in high pressure, quick turn environments.
- Associate's degree in Mechanical, Electronic, or Electrical technology or Bachelor's degree in engineering technology.
- 2+ years of experience working in an engineering lab.
- Knowledge of safety requirements around electrical products up to 120V.
- Refrigeration or regulatory testing experience is highly desired.
