Pay Rate: $25 - $28 /hour

Civil Engineer Intern

Delve Underground has a summer internship opening for a Civil Engineer Intern to join our Cleveland team. This position focuses on supporting the delivery of tunnels, underground facilities, and wastewater infrastructure projects. This position offers a great opportunity for a motivated, detail oriented, team-centric candidate to work on diverse jobs and gain experience, from local pipeline crossings to water & wastewater mega-projects across the country. The ideal candidate will have either academic or prior work experience in one or more of the following areas: geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, civil engineering design technology and drawings, engineering project management.

Responsibilities:

Assist with engineering analyses and design for tunnels, shafts, foundations, temporary excavation support systems, and soil/rock slopes under the direction of senior engineers

Assist with cost estimation and construction scheduling under the direction of senior engineers

Assist with writing technical reports and other documents explaining the basis for analyses, designs or recommendations

Assist with the preparation of construction drawings and specifications for underground infrastructure

Work as an integral member of a team on complex, multi-discipline projects.

Demonstrate good writing and communications skills and ability to communicate with internal staff and clients.

Work on a variety of office and field assignments

Qualifications:

Current student or BS Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Construction Management.

Completion of relevant coursework or experience in several of the following: statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, geotechnical engineering, fluid mechanics, project management, surveying, hydraulic engineering, water resources, foundation engineering, reinforced concrete and steel structural analysis and design

Experience with design technology software such as Civil3D, REVIT, OpenGround and Microstation is a plus

Ability to manage a number of concurrent assignments and priorities

Strong analytical and technical communication skills

Willingness to work in the field and travel for short-term assignments
