Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description:
Supports R&D team to develop, validate, integrate, and successfully launch electrical components and systems to support NPD business customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES:
- Confer with engineers, customers, suppliers and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
- Design, implement, maintain, test and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems.
- Operate CAD software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Capable of hands-on support of manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes.
- Executes research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
- Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufactured, construction, and installation standards and specification.
- Inspect completed installations and observe operation.
- Supports and participates in Morgan Olson’s Lean System processes.
- Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
- Capable of electrical wiring and system problem solving and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or two-year technical degree and a minimum of 5 years of practical and relevant experience.
- Proven ability to navigate and modify components and assemblies within 3D CAD software.
- Familiarity with common problem-solving techniques and tools such as A3, 8D or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Experience with vehicle electrical/HVAC/Wiper systems, software, and vehicle diagnostics is preferred.
