Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma/GED and an additional six (6) months of advanced study or technical training in electrical/electronic technology.
  • Four (4) years of experience in commercial and industrial electrical work.

Licenses or Certifications
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida CDL B driver's license within six (6) months of hire or promotion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs lighting systems, panel boards, motors, motor controls, transformers, relays, contactors, timers, computer drives, conduit, feeder wires and electrical service equipment at all City facilities.
  • Inspects and tests electrical wiring systems, fixtures, motors, generators, transformers and related equipment and components for City property.
  • Maintains City-owned streetlights, and power/lighting systems in ball fields, pedestrian bridges, public parks and other outdoor City property.
  • Establishes schedules and performs preventative maintenance duties all electrical systems, generators, locks and facilities.
  • Complies with all OSHA safety standards, personal protective equipment, and City safety regulations. Attends monthly safety meetings/training.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
