Position Overview

As a Safety Manager, you will manage our Health, Safety and Environmental programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach to work. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision. This position requires someone with the ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding our policies, procedures and software programs. #LI-WJ1

District Overview

TIC is a Kiewit Subsidiary that provides direct-hire construction services for industrial projects. TIC Denver has projects in Power, Industrial Manufacturing, Oil Gas Chemical, and Mining across the United States. Its projects range from small capital work up to major EPC projects. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry in an open-shop environment.

Responsibilities

Program Management:
Ensure projects are properly setup and supported to execute the safety program
Conduct project site audits to review records, permits, field conditions, safe work practices, and assess employee knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
Ensure Project Safety employee is completing all their responsibilities
Ensure corporate programs and standards are executed
Lead safety business plan efforts for district
Prepare reports and game plan for every month DOR
Promote and own the safety program
Provide feedback for how we can improve as an organization ways we can simplify and become more efficient/effective
Project Visits:
Proactively go to projects to assess and work with the teams to improve
Majority of time should be spent on the projects
Safety Talent Development:
Mentor and identify development needs for Project Safety employees
Participate in interviewing and hiring safety professionals
Build Relationships:
Collaborate and communicate frequently with Construction Management teams.
Collaborate with safety professionals across the organization
Manage Incidents:
Accountable for incident management system data
Ensure projects are set up for effective treatment management
Investigation Management:
Ensure proper root cause is identified and shared
Follow any corporate, group or district protocols for incidents

Qualifications

At least Ten (10) years experience managing construction projects in an environmental health and safety related area specifically on industrial related projects.
Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a safety related discipline.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred but not required.
Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity.
Knowledge of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)/OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills.
CPR/First Aid, Emergency Medical Technician (EMTA) certification and OSHA/MSHA instructor certifications are preferred.

Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

Base Compensation: $115,000/yr - $140,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
