CVD Equipment Corporation, headquartered in Central Islip, NY, has an opportunity for a Welder who will lay out, fit, and fabricate metal structural forms in the manufacture of Semiconductor, Nanotechnology, and Industrial Deposition Process Equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Proactively adhere to all safety standards and established protocols.

• Plan and coordinate department activities to fulfill production requirements ensuring on time delivery.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and diagrams; interpret geometric tolerancing.

• Set-up, lay out, fit, and fabricate structural forms using welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.

• Perform TIG and/or MIG welding of Steel, Stainless Steel, Hastelloy, Inconel, and Aluminum, passing Helium Leak check.

• Deburr, sand parts after weld as required.

• Ensure strict adherence to company manufacturing standards, methods, and policies meeting established quality requirements.

• Perform housekeeping tasks and basic upkeep to maintain a clean and orderly workstation, caring for equipment and tools.

Education & Experience:

• High School graduate or equivalent with Vocational/Trade School/Military training in welding.

• 1-3 years of related Welding experience.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Current welding certification preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.

• Attention to detail.

• Ability to use math skills to solve problems.

• Must possess excellent knowledge of geometric tolerances as related to part and fixture design.

• Must have effective communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

• Excellent knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade.

• Computer literate.

• Work well independently and within a team to coordinate efforts with colleagues.

• Effectively manage time; complete tasks as required.
