CVD Equipment Corporation, headquartered in Central Islip, NY, has an opportunity for a Welder who will lay out, fit, and fabricate metal structural forms in the manufacture of Semiconductor, Nanotechnology, and Industrial Deposition Process Equipment.
Essential Functions:
Proactively adhere to all safety standards and established protocols.
Plan and coordinate department activities to fulfill production requirements ensuring on time delivery.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and diagrams; interpret geometric tolerancing.
Set-up, lay out, fit, and fabricate structural forms using welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
Perform TIG and/or MIG welding of Steel, Stainless Steel, Hastelloy, Inconel, and Aluminum, passing Helium Leak check.
Deburr, sand parts after weld as required.
Ensure strict adherence to company manufacturing standards, methods, and policies meeting established quality requirements.
Perform housekeeping tasks and basic upkeep to maintain a clean and orderly workstation, caring for equipment and tools.
Education & Experience:
High School graduate or equivalent with Vocational/Trade School/Military training in welding.
1-3 years of related Welding experience.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Current welding certification preferred.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
Attention to detail.
Ability to use math skills to solve problems.
Must possess excellent knowledge of geometric tolerances as related to part and fixture design.
Must have effective communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Excellent knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade.
Computer literate.
Work well independently and within a team to coordinate efforts with colleagues.
Effectively manage time; complete tasks as required.
