Position Overview
Under general supervision, the Senior Maintenance Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of multiple Sheriff's Office facilities, including:
- Sheriff's Office Main Campus
- Jail Facility
- Office of Emergency Management
- Sheriff's Office North Campus
- Central Dispatch Building
- Search & Rescue Building
- Marine Boathouse
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Wage: $23.25 - $27.61 (DOE)
Retirement:PERSI (Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho)
5-year vesting

Key Responsibilities
Perform a variety of general building maintenance tasks:
Electrical
HVAC
Carpentry
Construction
Plumbing
Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
Ensure all safety protocols and codes are followed
Respond promptly to maintenance requests across all facilities
Ideal Candidate Traits
- Positive, solution-oriented attitude
- Broad skill set in facilities maintenance
- Comfortable working within secured environments (around inmates)
- Flexible availability for varied work hours or emergency calls
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in teams
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 5 years (60 months) of relevant experience/training, or a combination of education and experience
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one; must maintain insurance
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check (including polygraph)
