Job Description

  • Under minimal supervision, applies standard Engineering principles to accomplish tasks. Exhibits working knowledge of applicable codes. Works within prescribed budgets and schedules.
  • Performs routine, and some non-routine and complicated engineering designs and calculations in accordance with established standards.
  • Assists in preparing and coordinating Engineering reports, studies, calculations, etc. as required.
  • Participates in conferences with client to establish project objectives and resolve design problems.
  • Checks and approves internal and/or vendor drawings.
  • Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Typical structural projects may include structural steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and cold formed steel design.

Job Requirements

Experience as a structural engineer as demonstrated by 10+ years of progressive design and developmental projects with facility design experience.

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

A Master's Degree in Engineering is plus.

Must have an EIT License. If candidate has an EIT License please provide State License number on resume or attach a copy of registration.

Professional Engineer preferred.

Working knowledge of IBC and ASCE codes.

Working knowledge of Structural modeling programs (STADD, GT Strudl, etc.) a plus.

Possess working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD and /or Microstation, Microsoft Office Suite and software used for specific technical applications within the department (MathCad or similar).

High level of verbal and written communication skills.

Federal Government Clearance:

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
