ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Experience with managing costs; including tracking quantities for production operations and materials.
  • Experience with managing and tracking subcontractor work including progress and preparation of subcontractor progress estimates.
  • Experience with writing and managing RFI's and Submittals
  • An understanding of Contract documents and associated requirements for; change orders, requests for compensation, and time extensions.
  • Experience with project schedules including 3 Week and/or 90 Day Look Ahead Schedules
  • Experience on bid-build unit price and lump sum projects with an understanding of the measurement and payment requirements.
  • Document any delays and/or changes to scope of work
  • Ability and willingness to engage with a WIDE group of professionals. The desire to dive in and engage with people for whatever is needed to get the job done will serve this role well.
  • Support and maintain as built drawings
  • Coordinates with project superintendents regarding daily schedules including people, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
  • Acts as a liaison between project management and field employees on schedules, changes in scope of work, and conflict resolutions
  • Understands and follows MBE/WBE/DBE requirements
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Assures compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA safety standards
  • Multi-tasks and stay focused on the big picture while addressing daily issues
  • Help coordinate project sub-contractors for timely completion and quality.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills are required. Ability to listen, engage, and influence is vital.
  • 5-10 years' experience working on public works projects with both field and office responsibilities is required.
  • Experienced individual who can provide guidance and training to others, you will be supervising other engineers so professionally mature work habits-timeliness, patience and thoughtful decision-making will make this a growth position for the right person.
  • Excel--Ability to navigate spreadsheets and utilize Excel as a tracking system required.
  • A Driver's License in good standing is required

  • An outgoing personality that enjoys communication and seeks new tasks will thrive in this role.
  • Those with strong contracts, estimating and bidding elements of the work will be of benefit in this position.
