Bridge Superintendent - Shreveport, LA Primoris Heavy Civil is looking for a seasoned Bridge Superintendent to lead the charge on a key project in Shreveport! If you're a hands-on leader with a sharp eye for safety, quality, and deadlines-we want you. Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Supervise the daily operations of bridge construction projects, including roads, bridges, and highway construction activities.

  • Coordinate and manage on-site labor, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Ensure projects are completed according to project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and monitor the quality control of all work, addressing issues as they arise and making adjustments to ensure work meets the highest standards.

  • Experience with bridge structures composed of a plate girder, concrete girder, and/or steel truss; founded on driven piling, drilled shafts, or spread footings is preferred.

  • Comprehensive understanding of commercially available and wooden stick-built concrete forming systems.

  • Responsible for managing the entire construction operation of a project, often at multiple job site locations.

  • Tracking job site production on a daily/weekly basis.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on bridge projects
  • Proficient in the civil construction process
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.

  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must comply with company's drug and alcohol abuse policy.
  • Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces.
  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
  • Must be able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.
