Custom Solutions design team is seeking an experienced Engineer who has educational and experience-based knowledge of control systems applications, design, and operation.

The successful candidate must possess an integrated approach to problem solving and design through interpretation of systems level requirements to detailed level design while applying this concept to the development of turbine and driven equipment control systems.

The successful candidate will be a self-driven fast learner and will have a track record showing a high level of customer sensitivity and the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines for a variety of tasks.

As a Controls Engineer you will have duties that include supporting manufacturing and assisting field personnel during commissioning, and the resolution of safety critical risk assessments. There is also interface with Business Management and opportunity to travel to Customer locations to provide technical support.

The Engineering Value Stream dynamic will allow you to cross functionally work with multiple engineering disciplines and offers a great opportunity to develop a deep network with TMP and PSO. The ability to work well with a team, attention to detail with a focus on quality, and the drive to deliver on time is important to the position. You must also have a sense of urgency and organizational skills to work with multiple projects and competing priorities.

What you Need to Have:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Equivalent Experience in Design Engineering and Controls.

Technical Excellence:

  • Minimum 7 years of Engineering, Manufacturing, or Field experience in the related field
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings process & instrumentation drawings, electrical schematics, and single line diagrams
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming logic
  • Experience with the basic theory, design, and operation of industrial control system applications

Effective Communication:

  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing; and bring assigned tasks to clear and concise closure

Top Candidates Will Have:

Technical Excellence:

  • Experience with RSLogix Control software, HMI Display software, Promise.e V8i CAD
  • Knowledge of Turbomachinery system applications, design, and operations including concepts of power generation, gas compressors, gas processes, and surge controls systems
  • Knowledge of various hazardous area classifications and process control

Relocation

Summary Pay Range:

$120,299.00 - $180,449.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
