Heavy Equipment Operator

United Aggregates is looking for motivated excavator, dozer, and other heavy equipment operators to join the growing team at our Mount Vernon gravel plant serving Knox County and surrounding areas.

**Job Responsibilities**

Safely operate large power construction equipment including but not limited to excavators, track hoes, dozers, and road graders to excavate, move and grade earth and other materials

Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, and reporting any maintenance issues

Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and reporting any safety incidents

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including all equipment and surrounding areas

Coordinate with General Manager for any requirements specific to the current job site

Collaborate with other plant personnel to ensure efficient operations and meet production goals

Other duties as assigned by management

**Qualifications**

1-2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in the construction industry

Valid equipment certification from OSHA or equipment manufacturer

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and withstand varying weather conditions

Demonstrated commitment to safety with a good safety record

Effective communication skills, with the ability to work with plant personnel and management

**Working Conditions**

Construction environment with exposure to dust, noise and varying weather conditions

Shift schedule typically Monday through Friday with Saturdays as needed during the construction season

Overtime required when schedule dictates
