Location: New Albany MS

Employment Type: Full Time

Day Shift: 5:30am-4:00pm Monday-Thursday with overtime as needed

Pay range: $17.22 - $21.09/Hour

Final compensation dependent on location, education, experience, and background

Main Purpose of Job

Does gas or arc welding and operates all spot-welding equipment.

Examples of Duties:

• Has a general knowledge of all assembly and welding done in the department.
• May be required to do more difficult types of welding.
• Must be able to perform various types of welding such as gas, arc, and spot welding on stainless, aluminum, steel, and coated steel.
• Finishes all metals.
• Performs soldering when required.
• May be required to work in other areas.
• May be required to set up and adjust rocker arm and pinch gun spot welders to sub assemble or assemble shells or liners.
• Assists the Group Leader in training new personnel in the safe efficient performance of their duties as required.
• Reads and interprets shop assembly drawings.
• Detects defects and reports them to the Group Leader or Supervisor.
• Complies with all company policy and safety regulations.
• Uses hand and power tools.
• Accurately reads a metal measuring tape and square.
• Accurately records job time on time tickets.
• Responsible for housekeeping around his/her general area.
• Complies with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Works elsewhere as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Maintains a clean, safe, organized work area.
• Reports to Supervisor any unsafe equipment or conditions that exist.

Minimum Requirements:

• Welding Certificate/Experience Preferred
